Notes:

Based on the Best... Anthems... Ever! series of compilation albums released between 1997-99. I bought the first three volumes of this collection back-in-the-day but skipped the fourth as I already had the bulk of the tracks in my collection. I put this compilation together from various singles, albums and compilations I have in my collection.

Ashes To Ashes: Series 3 (Unofficial Soundtrack)

Ashes to Ashes is a British fantasy crime drama and police procedural drama television series, serving as the sequel to Life on Mars. The series began airing on BBC One in February 2008. A second series began broadcasting in April 2009. A third and final series was broadcast from 2 April to 21 May 2010 on BBC One and BBC HD.

Notes:
Whether you're a fan of the series or not it's hard to deny that it's early 80's setting lends itself to a fantastic soundtrack. The Official soundtrack releases for series 1 and 2 are both brilliant (I own both) but when I took a look at the tracklist for the 3rd series I was disappointed that some of the great songs that actually appeared in the series didn't make it on to the album. So I created my own version and included other great tracks that also didn't appear on the previous official releases.

Life On Mars: Unofficial Soundtrack

Life On Mars is a British television series broadcast on BBC One between January 2006 and April 2007. The series combines elements of speculative fiction and police procedural, featuring an officer from the Greater Manchester Police (played by John Simm) who wakes up in 1973 after being involved in a road accident. A soundtrack was released in 2007 containing music and dialogue from the series but dispite plenty more music used in the series that did not appear on the soundtrack there wasn't a follow-up release.

This two part compilation is made up of songs used throughout both series of Life On Mars plus some extras.
