Back in 2014 I uploaded The Troy Tate Sessions which was a two part collection of all the tracks available, gathered from various sources for the best audio quality. This is a collection of all the sources I have in my archive, unedited, unaltered and as they were when I downloaded them. Plus the Rehearsal Session (The Pablo Cuckoo Tape) recorded in May 1983 in order to give Troy Tate an idea of what he would be working with before going into the studio.

Jeff Buckley: Rarities From NYC *UPDATED 2025*

"Rarities From NYC" is a collection of unreleased demo recordings and radio sessions from Jeff Buckley. I know very little about the original collection of song contained in a folder entitled "Rarities From NYC" that surfaced sometime around 2005. I can not find a tracklist or even confirm how many tracks were in the original file (I read somewhere there were at least fourteen). A post on the blogspot: "I Am Fuel, You Are Friends" shines a light on some of the tracks.

My collection contains as many of the original tracks as I could find, from multiple sources (I always try and get the highest possible quality/bitrate I can find) plus a few rarities and couple of bonus tracks.

Updated 11/06/25:

Part One: Tracks 01-09 newly remastered for 2025. Tracks 10-15 are as I downloaded them. Tracks 16-17 are from a new and improved source (these tracks are the same as the ones found here).

Part Two: Tracks 01-09 are the original unedited "Rarities From NYC" mp3 files. Tracks 10-12 are new remasters of early Demos, which I've newly added to this collection. Tracks 13-14 are rare radio sessions. Tracks 15-16 are the unedited versions of the tracks found in Part One.

Glös: Hidden Cities EP (7" Version)

Glös began in 2005, when guitarist Keeley Davis and drummer Cornbread Compton were casting about for a new project after their previous band, the prolific emo act Engine Down, split up amicably. Living in different cities, Davis and Compton primarily collaborated over the Internet, writing songs separately and posting the sound files to each other for further elaboration. Having written nearly two dozen songs in this fashion, Davis then turned to his sister Maura Davis, with whom he had previously played in the moody, Portishead-influenced semi-electronic quartet Denali. Adding lyrics and vocals to the largely completed backing tracks, the Chicago-based Maura completed the cross-country trio. After nearly two years of writing and recording tracks while the bandmembers lived in various cities, the newly named Glös released their debut album, Harmonium in the spring of 2007. ~ Stewart Mason

 

Notes:

Although the album "Harmonium" isn't my thing (why wouldn't you put Maura Davis's vocal front and centre?), Hidden Cities is a really nice collection of songs. If you enjoyed Denali and Ambulette then I recommend giving this EP a listen. The Download contains a rip of the 7" Vinyl, plus a remastered version of those tracks (in both FLAC and mp3) and the digital download version which includes the 2007 mixes of the tracks.

Notes:

This collection is made up of the best sources I have been able to track down. Most of these tracks are untouched by myself as the sound quality is already excellent. Track 07 and 09 have both had some light EQ adjustment but the archive nature of these tracks means that not a lot can be done to improve the sound quality.
