Oasis: Glastonbury Glory (23.06.1995)

TREON080
Oasis perform live at the Glastonbury Festival on the 23rd June 1995.

Notes:
Here we have the full concert of Oasis live at Glastonbury on June 23rd, 1995, which happened to be the first gig with new drummer Alan White. The set includes a mixture of songs from their debut, Definitely Maybe, and from their follow-up, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, which was released almost four months after this appearance.
Their Glastonbury appearance marks the first live performances of what would become two of their definitive songs, Morning Glory and Roll With It (the latter of which was at the forefront of that summer’s much-hyped Britpop wars). It is also the introduction of ‘The Swamp Song’ and Hello. Also, notably, this appearance marks the first electric performance of Don’t Look Back In Anger.

Tracklist:
01 - The Swamp Song
02 - Acquiesce
03 - (Banter)
04 - Supersonic
05 - Hello
06 - Some Might Say
07 - Shakermaker

Jeff Buckley: Pretty Dark Soul (A Collection Of Radio Sessions)

TREON079
Pretty Dark Soul is a collection of three radio sessions by Jeff Buckley, taken from 1994 and 1995.

Notes:
The sound quality varies here due to the archive nature of the source material. There are quite a few clicks and skips here and there which is why these sessions didn't make it in to my "Asking To Stay" collection. I have left these sessions complete as it's always great to hear interviews and playful banter from Jeff and the band.

Tracklist:

02 - Grace
03 - Interview

Notes:
Just a compilation I put together for Jeff Buckley fans who might want to listen to some of the songs he used to cover plus some cover versions done by someone else. Oasis: The Ear Has No Memory (The DBTT Sessions)

TREON076
The Ear Has No Memory is a collection of demos and studio outtakes by Oasis from around 2005.

Notes:
I downloaded tracks 01 to 14 together some years ago and I can't remember where from. I don't think these tracks are available in a higher bitrate and some of the tracks that are labelled as "Demo" are most probably early mixes and not the actual demo version. I'm also pretty sure Man Of Misery is taken from the Dig Out Your Soul sessions. The rest of the tracks are taken from various sources. Track 15 is a fan edit but I have no information on who did it (Idledreamer, maybe?), if you do let me know and I'll update this section to give them full credit.

Tracklist:
01 - Turn Up The Sun (Demo)
02 - Lyla (Demo)
03 - Love Is Like A Bomb (Demo)
04 - The Importance Of Being Idle (Demo)

Oasis: Heathen Demostry (Demos & Rarities)

TREON075
Heathen Demostry is a collection of demo's, early mixes and rarities by Oasis for the 2002 album Heathen Chemistry.

Notes:
A collection put together from various sources. I don't have many acoustic sessions from this era but I've included two interesting live versions. The first is Noel performing solo on the Australian TV show "The Panel" and the second is a great version of Songbird from Jo Whiley's Live Lounge on BBC Radio One. Both are pretty good quality but I did do a little bit of clean-up on Songbird.

Tracklist:
01 - The Hindu Times (Demo)
02 - Force Of Nature (Demo)
03 - Stop Crying Your Heart Out (Demo)
04 - Songbird (Demo)

Jeff Buckley: Treasure & Trash (Early Studio Sessions)

TREON069
Treasure & Trash is a small collection of two early studio sessions from Jeff Buckley. The Babylon Dungeon sessions are Jeffs first studio session from September 1990 and make up the first 6 tracks. The second half is taken from the legendary "Trash Can Demo Tape" which is said to have been found by Barry Paddock on a garbage dumpster at 12th street in New York city, fall 1996. These tracks were recorded at West 21st Street Studio in New York in Febuary of 1993.

Notes:
All tracks have been cleaned up, I've tried my best to remove as much tape hiss as I could without cruching the dynamics too much. Two of the tracks from the Babylon Dungeon sessions have appeared on my Youtube channel, those tracks are from a previous clean up attempt and are not the versions found in the download.

Tracklist:
The Babylon Dungeon Sessions (Sept '90)

01 - Unforgiven

03 - Eternal Life (Backing Track)
04 - Strawberry Street (Click For Preview)

The Smiths: "Meat Is Murder" Live EP (Unreleased)

TREON029pt2
Following the success of the 1985 Meat Is Murder tour, the Smiths started planning the release of a live EP featuring material from the 18 March 1985 concert at the Oxford Apollo. However, plans were scrapped after the test pressing stage, and "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore" from the most recent album "Meat Is Murder" was released in its place, except in Holland where Megadisc preferred another album track, "The Headmaster Ritual".

The "Meat Is Murder" live test pressings bear the same catalogue numbers as the "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore" 7" and 12", and have become highly collectible. Two versions of the 7" have made it into the hands of lucky collectors, one with a Mayking label, the other with a pale yellow label.

Notes:
All tracks are sourced from The Smiths Extra Track (and a tacky badge) remaster project. Special thanks goes to them for the wonderful job those guys did and making them available to everyone.

This was uploaded as Part II of the "You've Got Everything Now" B-sides and rarities collection but the file was taken down (why this file was picked on to be removed I have no idea). I have re-uploaded the original file and it contains Artwork and track information for both parts.

Tracklist:
Meat Is Murder EP: Live at Apollo Theatre, Oxford, 18th March 1985

01. William, It Was Really Nothing
02. Nowhere Fast
03. Stretch Out And Wait

The Smiths: Do You Mind? (Live At El Dorado Theatre '84)

TREON066
The Smiths perform live at the El Dorado Theatre in Paris, May 9th 1984.

Notes:
Sourced from the bootleg "El Dorado". The original audio sounded a little tinny and had quite a bit of hiss during the quieter moments, so I've adjusted some levels to improve the sound and and removed any unwanted hiss to make it more pleasant on the ears. Although the sound quality here isn't as good as some other Smiths bootlegs (Thank Your Lucky Stars, Same Day Again) I thought it was well worth a clean-up.

Sadly this isn't the complete performance as the last track (an encore of Hand In Glove) is missing.

Tracklist:
01. Hand In Glove
02. Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now
03. Girl Afraid
04. This Charming Man

Oasis: Live At Knebworth Park 1996

TREON063

Oasis perform live at Knebworth Park 10th/11th August 1996.

"The gigs which defined Britpop, and crowned Oasis as kings of the movement, this was the moment Liam, Noel, Bonehead, Guigsy and Whitey confirmed their all-too-fleeting status as the most popular British band since The Beatles. Over two nights in August 1996, the 250,000-plus people who were the lucky two million or so to get tickets payed homage to a band which was at its zenith. Knebworth was a culmination of the phenomenal world-wide rise Oasis had enjoyed following the release of their second album ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?‘ and the huge global hit Wonderwall’. For a short time, they were the biggest band in the world, and these two nights captured just what that meant to both the bandmates and their army of fans, still in touch with their adidas-clad heroes and still truly representing all that is great about rock and roll. The significance of the gig was lost on no-one, and was summed up perfectly by Noel Gallagher as he strode on to the stage on the second night and declared: ‘This is history!’."

Notes:
There are rumours that this will be officially released next year, just in time for the 20th anniversary of the performance but until then we have this: Sourced from the bootleg "Welcome To Planet Earth", an excellent soundboard recording (which hasn't gone through the brickwalling that mars modern mastering), I've edited out all the imperfections and gaps to recreate the whole performance. The download also contains audience recordings of the missing tracks "My Big Mouth" and "It's Gettin' Better (Man!!)", which I have also cleaned up for better sound.

Tracklist:

01 - The Swamp Song
02 - Columbia

Jeff Buckley: Live At Arlene's Grocery '97

TREON058
Jeff Buckley performs live at Arlene's Grocery, NYC 9th Febuary 1997.

Notes:
"Arlene's Grocery is a club on the Lower East Side of New York City, owned by former Sin-é owner, Shane Doyle. Parker Kindred debuted as Jeff's new drummer and made his only public performance with the band there on February 9th, 1997. This show is also significant because a bootlegged recording exists of this show. Some of the songs that are featured on Sketches, such as "Witches' Rave" and "The Sky is a Landfill," were performed at this show."

This is one of Jeff's final performances and includes some songs which may have appeared on his second album but never had the chance to develope them further. This is sourced from an excellent audience recording and not the brickwalled bootleg "The Grace Of J". The upside of that is although this version is quieter the sound quality is much better.

Tracklist:
01 - Intro/Go Ahead, Tape Man
02 - Nightmares By The Sea
03 - Talking
04 - Witches Rave
05 - Tuning
06 - So Real
07 - Talking

Jeff Buckley: Just Passin' Thru Session (Revisited)

TREON028R

I've noticed a worring trend recently with a few Jeff Buckley releases. I think I'm right in thinking that the last official release we got is the boxset "Grace Around The World" in 2009 but since then we have gotten a small influx of Unofficial releases. Last year we got "Dreams Of The Way We Were" which was taken from Jeff's wonderful solo performance on WFMU's weekly music programme, 'The Music Faucet' on October 11th 1992. That performance deserves a crystal clear official release but what we got was a taped FM boardcast complete with hiss and sound distortion.

Yesterday I discovered another radio broadcast release. This time a two CD set entitled "It's Not Too Late", openly admited that the tracks were an FM "remaster". I gave serious consideration to buy it but I thought I'd better checkout the sound quality before I part with my hard earned cash. I found plenty of album previews online and I can honestly say it was pretty poor listening to say the least. Some of the tracks were playing at the wrong speed and sound way too slow as well as a good amount of tape wobble in places.
I'm not sure who did the "remastering" here but it doesn't sound as if they have made any attempt to improve the sound other than some pretty heavy handed noise reduction which as left the whole thing sounding muddy and flat.

Now, I'm no expert in this. I'm not as sound engineer or a producer, I am an enthusiastic amateur with a home computer and a few free audio editing softwares to play with but even with the little skill and technology I have, what I have made available here (for free!) has a lot better quality to what is being made available in the shops. That simply isn't right.

Download this sample of Dink's Song to hear the difference. >>>>DOWNLOAD<<<<

Track 01 is taken from my clean-up effort, found here: Jeff Buckley: The Music Faucet '92
Track 02 is taken from "It's Not Too Late".

Last week I was made aware of another unofficial release due out in May. "So Real: Live At East Orange 1992 / Studio Cleveland 1995" contains two performaces that are already available HERE and if this release gives us those sessions at a much higher audio quality then that is excellect and I welcome it with open arms (but I don't hold up much hope of that given the releases we've had so far) but what really makes me mad with this release is that on the back cover it has a photo of actor and musician Reeve Carney.
Don't believe me? Here is the back cover:

And here is a link to the intervew with Reeve and the photoshoot accompanying it:

It's just sloppy. As if they just used the first picture that google threw at them without even checking who was even in it.

How Jeff's legacy is being allowed to be treated at the moment is a little worrying but as long as this blog is still going I will do my best to treat Jeff's music and memory with the love and respect it deserves.

On that note, here is my final remaster of one of my favourite radio sessions from Jeff and his band: Live on WHFS-FM ''Just Passin Thru'' (Omega Studios, Rockville MD, 16th April 1995). I felt I over-cooked my remaster effort in the Asking To Stay... mix tape so I thought I'd go back one last time and do a final version.

Tell Me More: The Other Side Of Stanley Road is a silverpressed bootleg made up of demos, radio sessions and other rarities from Paul Weller. For More Info Click Here.

Notes:
I've been holding back posting this one due to the fact that a lot of these tracks are available on official releases (and in the case of some of the radio sessions in much better quality) but there are a few tracks here that either haven't had an official release or are slightly different to the ones that have. Jeff Buckley: Live At Club Logo 1995

TREON049
Jeff Buckley live at Club Logo Hamburg, Germany (22.02.95).

Notes:
It's been on my mind to clean this one up for a while. Although the audio quality of the original file was very good the levels were a little low and there was quite a lot of hiss during the quieter moments. I've removed as many of the audio glitches as I could as well as restored the intro (by taking it from an official source) and I've added an outro to remove DJ chatter at the end.

Tracklist:
01 - Dream Brother
02 - So Real
03 - Last Goodbye
04 - What Will You Say
05 - Lilac Wine
06 - Mojo Pin
07 - Grace
08 - Eternal Life
09 - Lover, You Should've Come Over
10 - Will The Circle Be Unbroken
11 - Hallelujah
12 - Kanga Roo

Feeder: The Live Collection

TREON048
A collection of live performances from Feeder dated between 1998 and 2009.

Notes:
Feeder bootlegs are incredibly rare to come by these days. I have a few but none of them with a higher bitrate than 192kbps. Given the low bitrate I thought it probably best to upload them here as one post instead of spreading them out over a few weeks or months. If you are a Feeder fan then it may be a chance to hear some stuff you haven't heard before.

Part One Includes:
Live from Glastonbury Festival (24.06.2000) - Incomplete 6 Tracks
Live at Conor Hall '03 - Incomplete? 8 Tracks*
Live from One Big Sunday '03 - Complete 9 Tracks
Live from the London Festival '08 - Incomplete 6 Track EP
* I have been told that this performance is incomplete but I have not seen a full tracklisting to find out what exactly is missing.

Part Two Includes:
Miscellaneous Live Performances - 23 Tracks dated between 1998 and 2009.

The Kitchen Demo Tape is a 1989 rehearsal recording of The La's featuring a number of unreleased songs. The audio is thought to have been originally sourced from a video of the band performing in the kitchen of Go! Discs boss Andy Macdonald. The La's frontman Lee Mavers described the recording as "A load of fucking garbage." during an interview with NME in 2009 but the Kitchen Tape is a must for fans of The La's.

3. Robber Man (03:02)
